ACCREDITATION

Maui Culinary Academy has been recognized by two accrediting bodies. Our mission is to assist the student to develop their hands and minds. MCA provides a wide range of courses to choose from; it is the goal of MCA that each student is given the opportunity to gain a better understanding of who they are and their place in society. Maui Culinary Academy is a part of Maui Community College and therefore must meet all the standards of an academically oriented institution. MCA has also passed the scrutiny of the American Culinary Federation Foundation . Maui Culinary Academy was the first culinary school in Hawaii to receive this prestigious designation.

Maui Community College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for the Community and Junior Colleges of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges , 10 Commercial Boulevard, Suite 204, Novato, CA 94949, (415) 506-0234, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.

Administration and faculty are continually assessing the College and preparing for periodic accreditation reviews. Documents associated with this process are located under the Faculty and Staff section on Accrediation .

There are hundreds of culinary and foodservice programs offered in the United States. These programs may or may not meet the standards of the American Culinary Federation Foundation . The accreditation effort is relatively new, and the list of accredited programs grows yearly. Only those that have completed the accreditation process are recommended. Graduates of ACF-accredited programs can be assured that the American Culinary Federation guided the curriculum of their career choice.
